A simple three-step flow

How to translate Tamil and Telugu speech online

Use this live Tamil–Telugu page for a short question and answer when both people can read the screen. It starts with Tamil (India), followed by Telugu (India). Both scripts remain visible in their own caption columns while speakers take turns, which is useful for checking a route, arrival time, or short service instruction together.

  1. 01

Confirm Tamil first and Telugu second

The starting pair is Tamil (India) and Telugu (India). Check the picker before Start. The page follows the labels you choose; a speaker’s name or location does not change them.

  2. 02

    Speak one complete thought

Press Start translating, allow the microphone request, and wait for Listening. Ask one question in Tamil or Telugu, pause for the captions, then let the other speaker answer in the other selected language.

  3. 03

    Compare both scripts before acting

Tamil appears in Tamil script and Telugu in Telugu script. Read the original line beside the translation, especially for a stop, time, or number. Ask for a repeat when a name is unfamiliar.

Words on screen

Follow each turn in the two caption columns

Read Tamil (India) speech beside its translation, then let the other speaker answer in Telugu (India) if they prefer. The text stays grouped by the two selected languages, so check the original wording when a place, name, or number matters.

Captions are text only, and either selected language can be spoken in the same session. The examples on this page are written to illustrate the languages; they are not captions captured from a live session.

With live captions, both people can follow each turn and respond while the conversation is underway. Use the two language columns to check names, numbers, and places together.

Language selections

Choose the two languages for this conversation

This page starts with Tamil (India) and Telugu (India). Speakers can take turns in either selected language during one session. The language columns stay fixed, and the Web trial is up to one cumulative minute per visitor.

How to select the two conversation languages in the browser voice translator
SettingHow it works
First languageStart with Tamil (India).
Second languageUse Telugu (India) as the second language; both remain visible in separate caption columns.
Conversation directionEither selected language can be spoken in the same session; its translation appears in the other language’s column.

The starting choices are Tamil (India) and Telugu (India). The example uses each language’s script and is an edited illustration, not a transcript. The page does not provide Latin transliteration or identify regional varieties automatically. Verify names, route numbers, and amounts in the original captions.

Short, practical exchanges

Where a short live exchange can help

Checking a bus route

Ask whether a bus goes to a particular area, then let the answer settle before you board. Confirm the place name in the Tamil or Telugu original caption.

Coordinating an arrival

Say an arrival time in a separate turn and read it back. Either person can answer in the other language without changing the fixed caption columns.

Asking a shop or service question

Use one direct question at a time, then request clarification if the translation does not answer it. Keep the item name and amount separate when checking a price.

Practical tips

Make each caption easier to check

  • 01Check the order: Tamil (India) first, Telugu (India) second.
  • 02Read place names in the original script before following the translated direction.
  • 03Say a number or arrival time by itself if the full sentence is difficult to compare.
  • 04Use a quiet setting and leave a short pause between turns so the two captions are easier to review.

Quick troubleshooting

No microphone input?

Check this site’s microphone permission and your system input device, then return to the tool and start again. If another application is using the microphone, close that recording session first.

Does the browser play translated speech?

No. The browser voice translator shows recognized speech and translations as text captions only; it does not play translated speech.

Connection interrupted?

Wait for the status to recover before speaking. If the session ends, check your connection and press Start again. A reconnect does not guarantee that speech from the interruption can be recovered.
