A simple three-step flow

How to translate Korean to English speech online

This live Korean–English page starts with Korean (South Korea) and English (United States) for a short polite exchange. Korean captions use Hangul. A greeting or self-introduction in the formal 합니다 style is a better check than a long mixed sentence. Speakers take turns in one session, and the columns stay fixed.

  1. 01

    Confirm Korean (South Korea)

Check Korean (South Korea), ko-KR, and English (United States) before Start. The page does not choose a speech level for you, and it does not detect honorifics from context.

  2. 02

Use one polite turn at a time

Press Start translating and allow the microphone. Wait for Listening. A short introduction or request is easier to read than several titles and names in one breath. The page load itself does not open the microphone.

  3. 03

Read the Hangul name beside the English line

Compare the Hangul caption with the English one. Family names and given names can be romanized in more than one way. Repeat the name if you need to write it down.

Words on screen

Follow each turn in the two caption columns

Read Korean (South Korea) speech beside its translation, then let the other speaker answer in English (United States) if they prefer. The text stays grouped by the two selected languages, so check the original wording when a place, name, or number matters.

Captions are text only, and either selected language can be spoken in the same session. The examples on this page are written to illustrate the languages; they are not captions captured from a live session.

With live captions, both people can follow each turn and respond while the conversation is underway. Use the two language columns to check names, numbers, and places together.

Language selections

Choose the two languages for this conversation

This page starts with Korean (South Korea) and English (United States). Speakers can take turns in either selected language during one session. The language columns stay fixed, and the Web trial is up to one cumulative minute per visitor.

How to select the two conversation languages in the browser voice translator
SettingHow it works
First languageStart with Korean (South Korea).
Second languageUse English (United States) as the second language; both remain visible in separate caption columns.
Conversation directionEither selected language can be spoken in the same session; its translation appears in the other language’s column.

The default is Korean (South Korea), ko-KR. Captions use Hangul, not a romanization system. Korean speech levels differ; the edited example uses the formal 합니다 style, and this page does not promise to identify 해요, 한다, or honorific forms. Check names and numbers in the Hangul caption.

Short, practical exchanges

Where a short live exchange can help

Giving a reservation name

Say the name in one polite sentence, then read the Hangul. Use that caption if the English romanization could be written more than one way.

Asking a staff member one question

Keep the request short. Let the other person answer in English or Korean without reversing the columns. Ask a follow-up only after the first answer is clear.

Checking a time with a title

Say the time in its own turn. A title or polite ending can sit in the same short sentence, but do not add the place, price, and name together.

Practical tips

Make each caption easier to check

  • 01Match the picker label Korean (South Korea) before you start.
  • 02Prefer one speech style for a short turn, then read the Hangul rather than assuming a romanized name is unique.
  • 03Put the reservation name or meeting time in a separate turn.
  • 04This page does not play translated speech or accept a Korean voice message file.

Quick troubleshooting

No microphone input?

Check this site’s microphone permission and your system input device, then return to the tool and start again. If another application is using the microphone, close that recording session first.

Does the browser play translated speech?

No. The browser voice translator shows recognized speech and translations as text captions only; it does not play translated speech.

Connection interrupted?

Wait for the status to recover before speaking. If the session ends, check your connection and press Start again. A reconnect does not guarantee that speech from the interruption can be recovered.

Korean to English voice translator FAQs

Questions before you start

01Does the page choose honorifics for me?

No. Korean (South Korea) is the language selection. The example sentence uses the formal 합니다 ending as an edited illustration. The page does not detect or promise a particular speech level.

02Will the name appear in Hangul?

Yes, the Korean caption is Hangul. English romanization such as Kim Min-su is a translation, not the only spelling. Check the Hangul before you copy a name.

03Can we switch languages turn by turn?

Yes. Either selected language can be spoken in the same session. The Hangul column and the English column stay in place.

04Can I translate a saved Kakao or voice note here?

No. This is live microphone speech after Start. It does not upload chats or audio files, and it does not export captions.

05How long is the browser trial?

Up to one cumulative minute per visitor. Stopping or refreshing does not restore used time. The Owll Translator app offer is three free days under the app’s own terms.
